I’m not going to enrol this coming semester.
I don’t feel telling why nor how this came to be. But I guess it’s all for a purpose. I’m extending my vacation. Heck, everyone needs to relax.
By relaxation, I don’t really mean to sleep all day and stay up all night. Watching cheap old videos in a crappy DVD player. I want to relax myself from a way of life. To stop thinking of the same things over and over again.
I want to run away from my day to day problems and meet bigger ones.
To take a break from seeing familiar faces and make strangers friends. I want to prepare to leave so someday I can return. Not going to school does not end my learning, it triggers it. I will not depend my craft to the master but I want to become a master myself through myself.
I want to master myself. Read the rest of this entry »
I’m definitely not going to enroll this coming semester. Grrr. Darn technicalities. Oh well, there are always alternatives and better options. I can’t believe I’m saying this but I really like school. I actually miss school!
Since I won’t be going to school for the next few months, I’m now in the dilemma of finding the best ways to earn this summer. As of this moment, one primary source of my income is through blogging. A simple comment here and a simple review there and you’re actually earning dollars. Thanks to Miki who introduced blogging to me! Read the rest of this entry »
Have you ever felt scared with your own dream?
The funny thing is that it’s not a nightmare. It’s a dream. A wonderful dream really. Seeing yourself in a very odd place. It’s really a silly dream. I don’t remember it anymore. I took up CL122 with Prof. Antonino de Veyra and I learned in Freud’s Dream Theory that after waking up, we don’t exactly recall the dream. Only vague images are retained in this head of ours.
And with those images, we make it logical. If you want me to retell my dream, it would be impossible. I would rather give you my doctored version of the darn dream: Read the rest of this entry »
Games. What would the world be like without them? Pretty boring perhaps. Then again, I think the creation of games is inevitable. Having fun is one of man’s nature. One of man’s desire.
Ancients used to play with sticks and stones. Ancient hunters hunt with stones, the problem is that the prey wouldn’t die in just one hit and whenever they miss, the prey springs and runs away. They couldn’t carry enough stones to throw at the darn thing. An innovative one thought of tying a string to a stone, so whenever he missed, he could easily retrieve the weapon and throw it again. Thus the idea of a Yo-yo was made.
Games like Chess and Backgammon were actually tactical strategy boards for wars and battles by ancient military generals. It improved the mind’s power and the person’s critical thinking. Still, it’s a game. Read the rest of this entry »
I sit in the hard cemented street. The orange sodium lights continue to irritate my eyes as I smell the intoxicating smell of asphalt and the stench of the huge canal. Roxas Street.
No cars, no people, no dogs. Just me. Walking and walking. Not a five-peso coin to ride me in the end. I want to delay my time. Delay the time. Delay…
I treasure the lonely walk. With no one but my many selves. The twenty me argue and agree. I can never tell. I walk endlessly. I walk alone but not alone.
Where is she and her sweet talk. Where are they? The invisible stars smile behind the dreary clouds. I cannot wait for them. No more.
My feet ache. My stomach grumbles. The sun sleeps. I remain awake. I remain walking.
Walking until the end of Roxas Street.
With just a few clicks and the right sense to take the different shortcuts and pathways to the wonderful maze of technology, you’re actually good to go to earning something out of what you can relatively say to be nothing!
Popping windows keeps on bugging you to wake up and make money online! What’s keeping you? What’s wrong with you? If you’re doing something you’re enjoying, why not do it and at the same time earn from it?
Those words seem to be too good to be true when you’re still new in the “money online” world. Seriously. I, too, was quite impressed when I saw the different almost too good to be true offers on the screen of my computer. But like my ol’ daddy use to say, “You can never tell with computers!” Read the rest of this entry »
No plans this afternoon.
I went video-streaming over YouTube. After a few songs, I suddenly realized that I felt a special attachment to this one video by Barbie’s Cradle. It’s the video of their song titled The Dance. I was quite overwhelmed. You may find it less overwhelming but on my standards, the simplicity of the video gave an effect that left me an impression of being satisfied.
The Dance
Would you be interested in dancing with me?
And maybe tell me all your dreams
Talk to me like you would in your sleep
Don’t censor anything
Cause i wanna hear everything
There’s no innocence left to spoil
You can swear she’s not a little boy
We’ll fly tonight so far away
Where they will never find us
Use your wings and i will run fast
Cause that’s what i do when i’m not afraid
We’ve got it made up in our heads
We don’t have to wait for anyone or anything
Go anywhere we desire
So close your eyes become blind
From the world listen instead to the girl
She’ll tell you why she chose to fly
And you’re left behind
Just like me alone and free
We can smile when we’ve filled the void
And treated the burn
But until then i believe
We’re gonna have to learn
To discard any disguise we’re using
Yes it’s hard and it’s never amusing
I immediately looked over the lyrics of the song and I found out how creative the writing was. It may actually pass out as an acceptable piece of work (in literary standards, of course). The Dance conversational monologue by a certain person who meets this one problematic figure in a dance. Read the rest of this entry »
One of the few advantages of learning six units of French in my school is to recognize simple french terms. That’s why when I first saw the title Nouveau Riche, I automatically knew that it translates as “new rich” or in other words “new ways of being rich” perhaps. In this article I read through my little expeditions in the net, new opportunities for booming business were featured.
It nearly took me off my seat when the methodology and the experiences of the persons involved were discussed. I realized that with proper education and careful planning matched with a good opportunity you can actually land into a very successful business. I’ll give you a sneak peak. I am a Creative Writing student in the University of the Philippines Mindanao. That’s plain fact. Whenever someone asks me what course I’m taking in college, instead of answering Bachelor of Arts in English, I’ll simply say Creative Writing. I’ll tell you why.
People go loco whenever we mention our being English Majors. My classmates also has the same dilemma. People tend to be over critical to our english. Some people tend to be conscious with how they speak english when we’re around. They seem to be suffering to the delusion that we’re great experts of the language.
Though we tend to study the complex world of grammar and syntax, that’s not the craft we are really trying to master. We are being trained in the realm of Creative Writing. We may qualify in journalism, editorials, speeches and research work all in english, our forte mainly lies on literature, poems, prose, short stories and plays. Read the rest of this entry »

I remember that the first character I ever drew in my entire life is a whole-body image of Batman. Since I was just a little kid, Batman has been my hero, next to my dad of course. I didn’t like Superman and I definitely didn’t like Wonder Woman. Bob Kane and Bill Finger should really be in the list of my most favorite people in the world. Thanks to them, there’s Batman in this world!
I suppose everybody knows who Batman is. Who doesn’t right? But if you’re one of those aliens visiting the earth and don’t know a spec about the Dark Knight, I’ll tell you who he is. He’s the greatest superhero ever! Yaaaaay!
Bruce Wayne witnessed the horrible murder of his parents when he was very young. Traumatized by the unfortunate event, Bruce decides to train himself. He became master of martial arts. He’s a fluent speaker of a God knows how many languages. He’s also studied theatrics and other useful crafts to prepare himself to his self-proclaimed role as protector of the weak in all of Gotham City!
So by day he’s Bruce Wayne the philanthropist, playboy and owner of the prestigious Wayne Enterprises and by night he is the Caped Crusader Batman patrolling the streets of Gotham fighting crime and what not. What I like about Batman is that he’s not like the rest of the other superheroes. He’s not flashy and he’s not really gentle to look at. He’s headstrong, brooding and sometimes sinister. You’d actually feel that he’s one of the good villains, if there is such thing.
On my opinion, he’s the best member the Justice League ever has. He doesn’t have any powers but he’s actually better than the rest of them. Even Superman. Of course, it’s quite debatable but you don’t expect me taking it back. I’m a stubborn Batman fan! Read the rest of this entry »
I don’t know why she calls it mysterious, I don’t really find anything mysterious about her blog really. What’s mysterious is when she suddenly pops out of my comment box asking for a review of her blog! Hah. But heck, why not eh? That’s basically why I’m here in the first place, to see and review things my way. In my eyes with my own opinions. Read the rest of this entry »
I recently watched Step Up 2 and it was such a blast! The story was a little so-so. Not as amazing as that of the first Step Up but it was quite nice. The dance steps however, was more than fantastic! They actually took it up the next level. Don’t worry, I won’t spoil anything on you. Believe me, it’s awfully great! I’d rather shut up than tell you what happens in the story. It’s better to see the movie in your own eyes than someone else’s. But if you want my opinion, I’m going to tell you to watch it! Catch it before it’s gone, then again, there’s always the DVDs. Read the rest of this entry »
