The usual plan for life for most of us is to go to school, get good grades, graduate with flying colors and land in a well-paying job. Then after doing your time working, you retire with your comfortable pension and it’s basically a done deal!
You think that’s enough?
Well, think again! If you’d notice, a lot of parents would invest a lot on their kid’s education. But if you’d look closely, most of our education there specializes us to become employees. The question is, do you really want to become an employee for the rest of your life?
Wouldn’t it be better if there were schools that would train us to actually make money and I mean MAKE money! Is there actually a school that teaches us how to be financially educated that would actally teach us to do business and become our own bosses! Well, actually there is. Read the rest of this entry »

Whew! Finally back in Cyberspace. It’s been a while.

I just finished Pol Medina Jr.’s Nineteenth Pugad Baboy book. It was great really. Very enlightening. Haha.. Anyway.
I’ve been from Cagayan De Oro for a National Meeting with Alumni Benefactors of our organizations. It was great mainly because it was an all-expense-paid trip and when we got there, they kept on feeding us! Buffet here and buffet there.
Anyway, I found out this new site that publishes written works online. It’s called Triond. It’s great for budding writers because you actually earn from your own works. You’ve got to have a Paypal account for you to get what you’ve earned. Read the rest of this entry »

So I’m here looking at this pretty bug in the road. I mean a bug car. The infinite treasures I’d give to have one! I’m exaggerating there.
I’m a guy. I don’t know what’s there between guys and cars but I suppose there’s this hidden connection between the two. Granted, I’m not that kind of guy who memorizes the different brand names and all. But I really really love looking at cars passing by. Read the rest of this entry »

What a relief to be wearing my old rugged clothes!
Still, the quest for the perfect part-time job is on. However, my upbringing taught me to be two steps ahead of things. Just like Chess. Well, actually in Chess, you should actually be five to ten steps ahead of the opponent.
Being held back one step, which is my formal education, I started to think of my other options. Read the rest of this entry »

With just a few clicks and the right sense to take the different shortcuts and pathways to the wonderful maze of technology, you’re actually good to go to earning something out of what you can relatively say to be nothing!
Popping windows keeps on bugging you to wake up and make money online! What’s keeping you? What’s wrong with you? If you’re doing something you’re enjoying, why not do it and at the same time earn from it?
Those words seem to be too good to be true when you’re still new in the “money online” world. Seriously. I, too, was quite impressed when I saw the different almost too good to be true offers on the screen of my computer. But like my ol’ daddy use to say, “You can never tell with computers!” Read the rest of this entry »

One of the few advantages of learning six units of French in my school is to recognize simple french terms. That’s why when I first saw the title Nouveau Riche, I automatically knew that it translates as “new rich” or in other words “new ways of being rich” perhaps. In this article I read through my little expeditions in the net, new opportunities for booming business were featured.
It nearly took me off my seat when the methodology and the experiences of the persons involved were discussed. I realized that with proper education and careful planning matched with a good opportunity you can actually land into a very successful business. I’ll give you a sneak peak. I am a Creative Writing student in the University of the Philippines Mindanao. That’s plain fact. Whenever someone asks me what course I’m taking in college, instead of answering Bachelor of Arts in English, I’ll simply say Creative Writing. I’ll tell you why.
People go loco whenever we mention our being English Majors. My classmates also has the same dilemma. People tend to be over critical to our english. Some people tend to be conscious with how they speak english when we’re around. They seem to be suffering to the delusion that we’re great experts of the language.
Though we tend to study the complex world of grammar and syntax, that’s not the craft we are really trying to master. We are being trained in the realm of Creative Writing. We may qualify in journalism, editorials, speeches and research work all in english, our forte mainly lies on literature, poems, prose, short stories and plays. Read the rest of this entry »

Bluff. It’s this game using a whole deck of playing cards (minus the two jokers). It’s actually more like poker with some differences. I’m not sure if it’s the same with the Bluff you already know but this perhaps is a version of it.
It’s a game where the phrase “the more, the merrier” is very applicable. I really am after the fun of it. I don’t exactly know why gambling and playing cards has its effect to people. Perhaps it’s the idea of getting to win and lose money in just a few seconds in playing the game. You win some, you lose some. Every decision is based on luck and a few tricks.
Maybe gambling and playing cards isn’t that far from real life. Actually, it’s really more like real life. You’ll never know what’s coming. All you have to do is to play the game and accept the consequences. Of course, I’m not saying you have to gamble and risk everything but in life it’s more or less like that.
I’m not really a gambling guy. I’ve been on a casino to see people bet on numbers and colors hanging on to dear old luck. There’s a lot of casinos even in the net. It’s best to read reviews to see how the different casinos are like. Try to be picky and choosy sometimes, you know. Read the rest of this entry »

I want to build my empire. Yey!
Of course, I’ve watched too many Star Wars movies over and over again and yes, I’m also a big fan of the many Dark Lords of the different fantasy series I’ve seen (eg. Darth Sidious, Darth Vader, Lord Voldemort, etc.). However, the empire I’m talking about isn’t exactly the empire you have in your heads right now. It’s more like a Bruce Wayne Enterprises empire. Yes, I’m a big fan of the Batman.

Anyway, I really am looking forward to have my own business empire. Honestly! Like so many ambitious little boys, I too started to ask my parents about how to make a lot of money that I wouldn’t even need to work my butt out. They answered me with the usual sentence: “Study hard and land on a good job.”
But that I suppose is not the answer. I don’t want to get employed, I want to be my own boss! I read Robert Kiyosaki’s Rich Dad, Poor Dad (Yes, I’m quoting that good ol’ book again, you really should have a copy, you know) and it say’s that you shouldn’t work for money! You should let the money work for you! Read the rest of this entry »

I really feel bad for my friends who study under BS Nursing. They’re required to attend summer classes. Some wouldn’t be able to join me and my other friends in doing things we usually do in the summer. I really sympathized on how intense the course really is. I mean after all, the science of dealing with patients isn’t a joke.
Speaking of medical related courses, I suppose because of the popularity of BS Nursing, we tend to overlook other courses like that of a pharmacy technician. The career is just as important and as vital as that of Nursing.
Surf on this site about pharmacy tech and see the different details regarding it. People everywhere are actually looking into it as an option for their careers. Of course, the pharmacy technician salary is not really that bad! So how about trying to widen our scope regarding medical related courses. You might find the perfect career for you.

This summer, I’m actually planning to go on to business. My friend Dario and I has already agreed on becoming business partners. For the past few months, we’ve been brainstorming of what we can do to begin our adventure in business. Yes, we expect to be facing bankruptcy sooner or later but it’s better if we face it this age than face it when we’re older. We plan in learning more about online payday loans if it could be a good source of capital. If not, we always got our parents to handle it. But it’s always better if you start with scrap. That’s what we’re planning.
One idea we got was to offer our services as facilitators of Memory Class Workshops under Memory Max. The memory class teaches a very important skill–sharp memory. This is very useful for high school and college students particularly those studying for the board exams or the entrance exams. It’s tested and proven effective. I know some of the basic tricks in mnemonics and I’m sure a lot are willing to pay to learn the skill.
Another idea we come up with was to start our own tutoring facility. Both Dario and I are quite capable in tutoring little kids irregardless of the subject. Of course, this is also useful because parents everywhere wants what’s best for their child. We hope to offer that. I’m positive that it would flop so I guess we’d better not hope much about it.
We still have a lot to learn. I’m not well-oriented with business yet. But the desire is there and we’re more than willing to explore the different possibilities. I know, we really sound pathetic. Then again, it’s all still in the mind.

Here in the Philippines, the common term for loan sharks is “5-6″. I don’t exactly know the etymology of the term but I guess it’s because if you borrow a 5, you end up paying a 6. It’s when you lending becomes a business. Interests.
I remember my old principal say in her speech that those who lend money with interest would be cursed with serious disease, I don’t know where she got that info but I’m not sure if I’m going to believe her.
Then again, the loaning system isn’t all that bad. I suggest you check pay day loan and understand more of their personal cash advance system. Or why not go to your local bank and learn the protocol.
On the contrary, I think the loaning system is actually very helpful. But on my opinion, it’s only helpful if you help yourself. Poor people are trapped in the mindset of spending what they get on expenses that doesn’t necessarily give back anything. On other words, they spend a lot of money on liabilities.
It’s a basic rule that a lot of people tend to overlook. We should buy assets not liabilites. Learn to distinguish both of them. The normal trend is to work then earn then spend. Maybe we should try to work then earn then buy assets. When the assets starts working for us, then we can stop working and let the money in. Then we can spend.

You should really really be very careful with your money.
For a person like me, who belongs to a community below poverty line, money is really important. I remembered this a class in CL122 under Prof. De Veyra and we discussed a lot about economics. Kind of weird huh? A Criticism Class talking about economics, but then we realize that for us to understand a certain literary piece, we must learn the state of the economy within the text.
Along with the things I’ve learned under Kiyosaki’s Rich Dad, Poor Dad, I started to widen my view towards money and its importance. I have the impression that businessmen treat money as tokens or casino chips in their deals. It’s not exactly gambling but using your brain effectively towards business.
I learned that debt is not necessarily bad. Rich Dad, Poor Dad suggested to loan for capital in your business deal. What you earn, you don’t pay to your debt. Instead, you use the profit to start another business! The cash continues to flow to your account. Buy a lot of assets first! Pay your debts later. Debts should not be your priority.
Of course if you need help in consolidating debts, just to understand more about it, there’s actually debt consolidation online. This site I know of has been offering free debt consolidation program since 1997.
I’m not really an expert in business and loans and debts but I guess it’s better if we know a lot about these things. It wouldn’t hurt to be ready for our future transactions.
